View on the lake

This is a view from our balcony on the lake.
I am irritated with blogger for not allowing a bigger size. No plein air scene done in bigger format looks decent, because it is published into this limited size, so everything disappears into a little colored spot.
Nonetheless, this was done in pen and watercolor on Fabriano HP.

It enlarges quite well and looks marvelous!

Tres jolie! All of them! What a productive week you are having. I hope the heat has dissipated some...I think it's here now. Today it was 108 f at 4pm! I am too tired and hot to sketch! I also love the blues; especially the boat paintings and ristorante and the turquoise in the lake painting. The more I examine the lake painting the more jewels I find: the blob on the water on the upper left suggest depth; the refection of the boats on the water anchor the painting and the building upper right could be a pagoda or gazebo while the blobs on the road on the left corner I imagine are a family sitting on the shore enjoying the day!

I know what you mean about small images - it's not motivating to move to a bigger format because they all look the same. This is really lovely, though. I can't wait to see the original some time.

It goes bigger if you click on it. I love the colours and the painterly style.

Your loose, dense, painterly strokes never fail to inspire me. Beautiful work.

So juicy - I love it! The bigger view does show it off nicely.
