Fruit and vegetable market

We stopped at this frsh produce market to buy peaches for lunch...ended up buying much more than only peaches! I have a weakness for fresh produce and always end up buying more than I need!
Done in pen and watercolor on Fabriano CP.

This sketch was done in pen and watercolor on Fabriano HP. I like playing around with the HP and CP papers, getting different effects every time. Alternating between the two blocks, is also easier in terms of drying.
I prefer the blocks to the moleskine. The bigger format allows me to be more spontaneous in drawing/sketching.

Nice and loose sketches, like always, Ronell! Which size has your watercolour blog? - At the moment, I draw more and more in small formats; must be my kind of mood, I don't know.

Beautiful, loose, colourful sketches I have come to expect when visiting your little corner on the internet Ronell...You never fail me. The blues in that first one are totally gorgeous.

These are great Ronell, so colorful. I love those kinds of farm stands. I've been stopping by your little vegetable guy in Montlouis when I can - it's the closest I can get here!

Me, too, on all counts! These are so wonderful, Ronell---I love your brave and juicy painting style!

Wonderful loose quality to your painting. I agree on the blocks, I was not impressed with the wc moleskine. Try some really rich rag paper sometime. IMO nothing takes the paint better. Great subject, though I would be so tempted.

More jewel-like colours! These give an impression of bright sunlight and warm temperatures.

Enjoying seeing the sketches you put up while I was out of town and busy. Glad to be back checking in ...those fruits and veggies look great!

Are you enjoying yourself? Are you homesick yet?

You've done it again. Lovely free, expressive watercolours. I can see why you were tempted to buy too much tooo.

Gorgeous work. I agree about the fun of changing back and forth on the different papers and also what a difference it makes to use larger good paper than just sketchbook paper.
