Streetscenes

Some scenes from Highlands, NC.
"The Speckled Hen". selling all kinds of garden things. Beautifully decorated on the outside with a wild garden and birdhouses.

Ristorante Paoletti, with it's cute black awnings.

Lastly, The Old Edwards Inn, which opened in 1935 as the Hotel Edwards, has recently been restored after 40 million dollars and two years of work.
Done in pen and watercolor in moleskine.

HOW WONDERFUL RONELL!!! I LOVE THE BRIGHTNESS AND MERCY, THE COMPLEXITY OF THE HOTEL -- DONE SO WELL!! And Highlands is just beautiful, isn't it!!!!

Bright and happy street scenes! Love all the little birdhouses-no wonder you had to paint it. And the buildings are great!! You are really seeing the 'everyday' life there.

These are fabulous!! I especially like the Hotel -- It looks as though you are aclimated to the heat OR you are just ignoring it and getting out and seeing the sights anyway.
